    Posted: 06/16/2008 at 9:48AM

To better keep everyone informed, we want to post information about current or ongoing projects that KAM and the chapter are involved in.

The most recent project being brought to KAM's attention is the need for a patio in front of the social quarters. If you have any input we would be glad to hear it. If you have experience with somethign like this, then we would definitley like to hear it.

This is in the intial stages (quote shopping), but here are some of the options we have to consider:
  • How large/small?
  • Placement (directly in front or off to one side)
  • Do we need a half-height style wall for sitting?
  • Do we need a wall period?

Any input is welcome. Thanks,

I think the patio is a good idea.  I've been at the house a few times when it was raining and the yard turns into a muddy mess.  As for positioning, you could put it in front on the east end (left side if your facing the house) with a walk way to the parking lot.  The wall would be nice for sitting and would also keep vehicles off.

Question: What are you planning on doing with the new sod that was placed over the vollyball court?  I know that this wasn't cheap. Could it be used elsewhere on the property.....or it destroyed and not worth the trouble?

I thought the same thing about placement.

If we can salvage the sod, then we will, but until we get someone out there we will just have to wait and see.

Just to fill anyone in. They laid the foundation yesterday for this and we should have pictures up soon. Heard it looks awesome though.

The dimensions are 30x36 and it just a slab, but we will focus on getting a wall soon.

The wall is currently being built as I type this. It will have a brick veneer similar to the building also. Will keep everyone posted.

looks like it will be good once finished. Will it be painted or bricked?

I know where is a nice statue of Jack Daniel in front of the liquor store down the street.  I could swipe-it and save us a few bucks.  Would that work?

Well just let everyone know, I was up at Martin Friday night to see my parents and I stoped by the house. The wall really looks great.

Plus it was pref. night for Rush and the guys looked like they were working hard. Lots of Rushees and girls running around. I heard today they got like 36-40 pledges. Souds like they did really well. Keep up the good work guys
