UT hired the best RC's from the SEC and it will pay off quickly!  I am predicting a top 10 class this year.  Next Thurs (the day after signing day) I will be at the dinner that Kiffin is hosting to discuss the signees.  I'm expecting some 5 star surprises!  We'll see?!  I am also excited and can not wait until it is FOOTBALL TIME IN TENNESSEE!

I'm just talking about recruiting, not on-the-field production, yet.  Kiffin and crew has quality players ready to sign this year.

JY, are you going to pull for UK or Louisville this year?

I don't think there will be enough talent to make a big splash, but they will beat a team or two they aren't supposed to because it is the SEC and they are a new staff with a new scheme. I will say an upset early (maybe even Florida), but no more than 7 wins which would be a successful season.

Let's break it down...

W. KY, Ohio, Auburn, Memphis, Vandy, UK-- 5 out of 6 easy
UCLA, SC, Ole Miss -- 2 of 3
Florida, Georgia, Alabama -- 1 upset in here

Plus, 8 of the 12 games are in Knoxville and UT has a bye before Bama.

Prediction....8-4 and Outback Bowl.  Go ahead and book a dime on it and thank me later.

I like it, but I disagree with your groupings of the teams...Ole Miss will be better than UGA and Bama this year. UF will be the best team in the country and Auburn is going to be down. I think they will lose to UF, Ole Miss, Bama for sure and probably two other teams, not sure who.

I like the discussion...I'm excited about the new start. Go Vols!

Nutt has brouhgt the program a long way in a very short period of time--and perhaps they are above UGA, especailly after UGA disappointing season last year.  But Bama, I disagree. They have stated a 3-4 year run of BCS bowl games.

Interesting column from Sporting News on Kiffin...

http://www.sportingnews.com/yourturn/viewtopic.php?t=513762

Four years ago, while he was an assistant at USC, Kiffin had to go to Nashville, the heart of Big Orange Country, to recruit the nation's best wide receiver: Patrick Turner. Turner had called and said he was committing to Tennessee. Kiffin got on a red-eye flight that night and sat with Turner the next day for six hours making the sell.

Turner finished his senior season this fall No. 10 on USC's all-time receptions list.

"We weren't going to let him say no," Kiffin says.

Tennessee has signed three big surprises so far...
Teague from Paris
King from Memphis
Myles from Atlanta

ESPN has the rumor of Nu'Keese Richardson signing with the Vols as well:

Kiffin may get it turned around in Knoxville, but he has assured himself and the Vols faithful a beating when he visits the swamp this fall, not that you guys aren't used to that by now.  By the way, the reason the Gators don't have a top five recruiting class is because they are returning ALL of their defensive starters and they are only losing a couple of OLs and WRs.  We do have a four and five star heavy recruiting class filling the needs mentioned before. The quality only surpassed by USC and the quantity surpassed by pretty much everybody that is not returing 18 starters from a national championship team.  Get ready for another title run from the Gators, and remember if you are not a Gator fan, then you are Gator BAIT!

I like Kiffin, but the comments he made was dumb and will come back to hurt UT. I don't think anyone this less of him, then this guy http://www.cbssports.com/columns/story/11352943
