KA Flag Screensaver » Downloads Home

This document describes how to make a KA screensaver with some of the built in features supported by the Microsoft Windows Operating System. This would be only for versions 98 and up. I don't think 95 supports this unless you have Microsoft Plus installed.

Instructions:
  1. First click here or go to http://www.kao1865.org/clipart/flags/flag_official.jpg and download the flag. This will work with any image you choose, but since we are creating a screensaver called "KA Flag Screensaver", I think it is only approprate that we use a KA flag. There are other flags below.

    Flags:

  2. Now right click and Choose Save Picture As. (IMPORTANT: In the Save Picture Dialog Box you must change the Save as type to Bitmap (.bmp). This will not work otherwise.) Now save the picture to your harddrive in a place that you will remember.

  3. Next click on your start menu, go to Settings, then Control Panel, then Display. You can also get here by right clicking on your Desktop and choosing Properties.

  4. After the Display Properties Window has displayed, then choose the Screen Saver tab. In the Screen Saver drop down menu choose 3D Flying Objects. If you do not see this, then this will not work for you.

  5. Once you have selected 3D Flying Objects, then click the Settings Button. In this window change the style to Textured Flag.

  6. Next Click the "Texture..." Button. Remember the flag you saved in Step 2. Navigate to where you saved it. Select the file and then click Open. You can mess with the Resolution and Size settings if you like. The higher you set them the more it could slow your computer down, so if you have a slow computer you would want these to be lower.

  7. Now click OK and set you Wait period. You can preview it if you like.
